Dan Ratner has a long, storied career representing working people. He was an organizer with the SEIU and the UAW for 12 years before becoming a lawyer. His law career has spanned over 25 years, during which he has represented unions and workers in both profit and not-for-profit sectors. He has served as General Counsel to 1199SEIU, which represents over 300,000 healthcare workers.

Last month, Dan was awarded the Peggy Browning Award in recognition of his contributions to the field and staunch advocacy for workplace justice. When accepting the award, he told an unbelievable tale of worker solidarity and resiliency—an event coined the Battle of Bronxville.
