Seth Harris on Bloomberg TV Discussing the "Summer of Strikes"

I appeared on Bloomberg TV on Thursday afternoon, July 20 with Scarlet Fu to talk about the "summer of strikes," the rising popularity of unions, and surprisingly poor decision-making and perhaps-unsurprising labor-law-breaking by some brand name corporations.

We also explored the increased worker bargaining power that has been made possible by persistently very low unemployment and a lack of layoffs despite the Federal Reserve raising interest rates. I was asked to speculate what would happen if the labor market deteriorated and worker power declined. You can watch my answer below.

Scarlet also asked me a question that I haven't been asked before and I found fascinating. She asked if I felt corporate CEOs were prepared to deal with rising worker activism and understanding "where their workers are coming from."  She also asked me what is the "#1 skill" corporate CEOs need in order to do better engaging with their employees. Watch the video below to find out how I responded.
