I appeared on Bloomberg television with Katie Greifeld and Scarlet Fu on Monday, October 30 to discuss the United Auto Workers' tentative agreements with Ford, General Motors, and Stellantis.
We discussed the UAW's "stand-up strike" strategy and why it was successful. I also explained that the UAW's approach this year was to seek "pattern bargaining by issue" rather than the traditional pattern bargaining based on an entire contract. Katie and Scarlet asked about what the successful strike means for President Biden, the most pro-union president in modern American history. They also asked me to predict what will happen when these contracts expires one day before May Day, 2028. Watch to find out what I predicted.
