Levin served in the House of Representatives from 2019 to 2023. Prior to serving Congress, Levin spent many years as an organizer first with the Service Employees International Union, then in the United Auto Workers Health and Safety Department, and finally for 11 years as assistant director of organizing for the AFL-CIO. In addition to his time with the unions, he advocated for workers on a government level as the acting director of Michigan’s Department of Energy, Labor and Economic Growth and as Michigan’s chief workforce officer.
